Marine Themes Stock Photo Library presents superb underwater photography of marine wildlife from around the world in the internet's largest online web database of marine wildlife images.

We have stock photographs of whales, dolphins, sharks and much more. Dangerous animals such as the worlds largest photographic collection of Great White Sharks (Carcharodon carcharias) and Salt Water Crocodiles (Crocodylus porosus). Awesome animals such as the Humpback Whale or the mighty Sperm Whale. Sleek Minke Whales and the uncommon Pygmy Killer Whale. Rare and bizarre animals such as the worlds first underwater photographs of Pacific Spookfish and other enigmatic Chimaeras. Colourful coral reef scenes with soft coral trees, brilliant reef fish, bright orange Rhinopius Scorpionfish and other saturated subjects for advertising, corporate and book projects. Graceful Manta Rays, poisonous and flashy octopus species, fluffy Polar Bear and really weird critters such as Batfish, Anglerfish and the bloated but charismatic Walrus.

We also cater for concepts for advertising and corporate use. Birth, innocence, fear, anger, aggression, love, hate, hot, cold, lonely, crowded, happy, sad, freedom, beautiful, ugly and other highly emotive concepts can be illustrated in an attention grabbing manner using our marine wildlife images.

Your imagination is the only limitation when you use the worlds largest online array of marine wildlife photography.

The Marine Themes Stock Photography Library is a stock photo library specialising in marine wildlife particularly underwater photography of sharks, whales, dolphins, seals, fish of all kinds, dugong, birds, marine plants, invertebrates and much more. Our files include spectacular, rare, dangerous, and amazing animals of all kinds related to the marine environment and the underwater world.

Marine Themes is a digital stock photography company providing all images in a web based searchable database.

We specialise in dangerous, cute and colourful marine wildlife captured by our professional photographers using special underwater camera equipment. We have extensive photographs of the Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) which is the worlds most dangerous marine animal and the worlds largest feared predator. Great White Shark photographs include underwater feeding, abovewater feeding, identification shots, jawing shots with the Great White Shark's mouth wide open, face shots and behaviour. We even have photographs of more than one Great White Shark together.

Other shark species include rare and deep water species such as photographs of the unique Frilled Shark (Chlamydoselachus anguineus) showing full body and detailed portraits including the unique three pronged teeth used to grasp their slippery prey. The common name, Frilled Shark, comes from the large encircling gill slits which our photographs clearly show. We also have underwater photographs of deep water bizzare sharks such as the Black Shark (Dalatias licha) which feeds like the tropical Cookie Cutter Shark (Isistius brasiliensis). Deep water dogsharks are also included in our underwater photography files. We have photographs of sharks and rays that no one else has because one of our underwater photographers specialises in deepwater sharks and rays including electric rays and skates. We also hold in our digital database of underwater photographs shots of common shark species such as the tropical Grey Reef Shark (Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos) or Gray Reef Shark (Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos), the Whitetip Reef Shark (Triaenodon obesus). For a full list of shark species see our species list.

Many of the shark species in our searchable image database are also included in the Knowledge database. The Knowledge database includes general information about both common and rare shark species. The following are shark files providing information about natural histroy and behaviour. In order they are Sixgill Sharks which include both deepwater and shallow water species. Sevengill Sharks are found in similar environments as are many of the Dogsharks and Bramble Sharks. Bottom dwelling Angelsharks or the pelagic Basking Shark have diverse lifestyles. Other bottom dwelling sharks include Blind Sharks and Catsharks. In the tropics other bottom dwelling sharks are the Collared Carpetsharks, the similar Longtailed Carpetsharks and the famous camouflaged Ornate Wobbegong, Spotted Wobbegong and Tasselled Wobbegong which are only found in the south and east Pacific along with the long tailed Zebra Shark.
Houndsharks are commercial species of sharks. Open ocean and reef dwelling shark species include the Blacktip Reef Shark, Bronze Whaler Shark, Galapagos Shark, the common Grey Reef Shark and Whitetip Reef Shark, the beautiful Silvertip Shark, the bizzare Hammerhead Sharks, and the fearsome Oceanic Whitetip Shark.

In the tropics the most feared shark is the Tiger Shark while in the cold southern waters it is the Great White Shark. Fearsome in appearance but docile in habits is the Grey Nurse Shark but not so the similar toothed and speedy Mako Sharks. Other docile species are the sleepy Nurse Sharks and Horn Sharks while in the strange section could be placed the Thresher Sharks and bizzare Sawsharks

The Marine Themes digital web database also includes underwater photographs of whales, dolphins, seals, dugong, manatee, walrus, sea lions, polar bears, otters and other marine mammals. We have both abovewater and underwater photographs of Humpback Whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) including photographs of mother and calf pairs as well as mother, calf and escort trios as well as groups of courting males. We have photographs of breaching whales, lobtailing, pec slapping and other behaviour plus body parts such as tail flukes, dorsal fins, pec fins and head details. Some of the other common or uncommon species include the white Beluga Whale which is only found in northern waters as is the Bowhead Whale and Northern Right Whale. The largest animal ever to live on this planet is the massive Blue Whale as opposed to the smallest of the great whales, the Minke Whale which is still commercially hunted. Rare and unusual animals include the Bryde's Whale, Pygmy Right Whale and Sei Whale. The fastest and possibly loudest whale is the Fin Whale while the Gray Whale and Humpback Whale are famous for their long migrations with the latter also being noted for their acrobatic displays and haunting songs. The Southern Right Whale is slowly returning from the brink of extinction and the mighty Sperm Whale, though smaller than other species is regarded as the deepest diving great whale and hence the most "macho" species of whale.
